Children and staff at Cronk y Berry School took part in Childline’s 'Speak out, stay safe’ Programme this week. Sponsored by the NSPCC and on offer to all schools throughout the British Isles, visits to schools ensure Primary School aged children have an understanding of abuse in all its forms, including bullying, and an ability to recognise the signs of abuse. Through practical workshops and assemblies, the facilitators, Chris Dunne and Suzanne Howell worked with the children to make them aware of how to get including contacting Childline.

Chris commented: "Our ambition is to help every child in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands stay safe – so it’s wonderful that Cronk y Berry School is helping us achieve this vision.” Mr Sellors, Headteacher was delighted with the response from the children and said: “The children were very engaged and involved in the programme and we feel they understand the importance of speaking out and sharing worries with a range of trusted adults.”

Callum and Georgia, two pupils in Year 5 said: "The classroom activities helped us to make good choices about how we get on with others and the importance of treating people with respect and kindness."
