It is always lovely to catch up with former Cronk y Berry students to find out how they are getting on! One student, though, we see how she is getting on with her amazing podcast, Talking in the Dark. Evie Roberts has been recognised multiple times for her achievements in various aspects of Island life. So it was a pleasure to invite Evie back to Cronk y Berry to have a catch up with the children and staff. Before Easter, Evie and Mrs Molyneux-Smith popped back to see her old classroom where Miss Caley still teachers AND who happened to be teaching Evie's Reception buddy, Kelsie! The class were in awe of Evie's achievements and were keen to learn how she navigates the world. Evie even brought the braille keyring Kelsie got for Evie when she left school!
Today, Evie came back in to see Year 2 as part of their work on senses. Evie spoke about being blind and how she manages her everyday life. The children had lots of really great questions for Evie, which she answered brilliantly.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Evie and Mrs Molyneux-Smith. We were really excited about your visits and we all learned a lot – including the teachers! Good luck in your exams, Evie. We are sure we'll see even more success for you in the next chapter of your life.
