There was a huge roar of laughter as the Purple and White Helmets display teams made a spectacular entrance to Cronk y Berry this afternoon. We were lucky to have had a special visit from these highly professional motorcycle display riders! They entertained the whole school with a display of precision formation riding! There were a few moments of drama when some of the Purple Helmets fell off their bikes and one even ended up in the bushes! The White Helmets are a group from the British Army's Royal Signalling Corps. These serving soldiers are seconded for three years to the display team after passing tests to enter the group of 30 riders. Sadly, this is the last time we will see the White Helmets as the group will cease to display on the 30th September this year. We are very grateful to the soldiers who stayed to speak to the children, helped them sit on their precious triumph motorbikes and answered their questions! Many thanks to the Purple Helmets for giving up their time to entertain us as a special treat for the beginning of the TT holidays!
