Astronauts: Do you have what it takes?
That was the challenge for Year 5 today. Based on the BBC series in 2017, the children were given a taste of what the astronaut selection process is like through a series of activities. The day started with a mission briefing, showing the children clips from the TV show. As in real life, the children were mixed up to show the astronaut choosers their ability to work in a team. They then completed a carousel of activities including:
*the silent tower building task
*dexterity activities
*quick reaction tests
*programming a Beebot to reach a destination
*number recall
*Space quiz
*a letter to NASA to apply for the job
*galaxy biscuit decorating
The children had a busy day completing all of their missions.
