Forest school
Reception have been having lots of fun extending learning outside of the classroom in our forest school sessions. We made fairy houses using sticks, leaves and bark. We had had to use our imaginations to help us choose natural resources to serve different purposes in the houses. We found out that leaves made a very good roof! We even used a saw, drill and pens to create some things to decorate our forest area with in order to scare away the terrible, fairy-house crushing Rumblethump monster! We are learning to share our ideas with our peers and listen to the ideas of others. We have also been developing our physical skills, trying out new ways of moving, taking risks within a safe environment, and using tools to create a desired effect. Forest school helps us to develop our learning across many areas of our early years curriculum, and is great fun too!
