A huge congratulations to our 2023 Public Speaking team who have just come 3rd in the annual competition.
In January, Years 5 and 6 were given the opportunity to write a speech for our mini school competition with the winning speech plus two additional speakers selected to the go the Rotary final. We were entertained by a variety of speeches, but it was Robbie's speech about boys in ballet that captured the judges! He was delighted to have won and was keen to perform in the final. Helping him out were Yosif as Chairperson and Thomas as the Proposer of the Vote of Thanks.
The team have put a lot of time into learning their speeches as well as the etiquette needed for their roles on stage. Robbie's stage experience shone through as he delivered his 6 minute speech on the world of boys in ballet challenging stereotypes. The judges gave the team lovely feedback and they were rewarded with book tokens for their performance. It was lovely to hear that it was their team work was something to be especially proud of.
