The children in Reception are learning about people who help them. Mr Leigh, who works in Space, came to talk to them. He is a volunteer on Port St Mary Lifeboat. A real life hero! He has to wear and carry a lot of equipment to help him and keep him safe. Miss Leach tried on the special clothes. They were a bit big for her! It was a very interesting afternoon.
The children also had a visit from the Police. Jodie, our community liaison Officer, came to visit the children. She talked about how the Police help them, and introduced the children to PC Sam. Jodie challenged them all to learn their addresses, and parents’ phone numbers, in case they ever get lost.
The children went outside to sit in a police car. It was so exciting! They saw the blue flashing lights and heard the sirens. The boys and girls also tried on the police hat or a helmet.
