Year 6 had a chance to showcase their amazing gadgets at our annual Gadget Convention. Their project began with the Primary Engineer Competition earlier this year. They were tasked with designing a futuristic gadget that would enhance the life of someone. The range of ideas was brilliant. After their initial drawn designs, they created a company - naming it and designing a logo. Next, it was time to sell their device through persuasive letters, posters, websites and adverts. To showcase their device, Year 6 developed their display skills and were given a special board to provide customers with all they needed to know about their device. In addition, the children extended their ICT skills by building a website with working hyperlinks for customers to browse their company site. Finally, they made a prototype to bring their initial designs to life.
Year 6 would like to express their gratitude to all of the families who came to their convention and visited everyone's display stands. The order forms were being filled in, business cards handed out and launch day offers being taken!
Year 5 visited on Friday - getting ideas for their own convention displays for next year!
