Cronk y Berry are supporting Hospice Isle of Man with their Big Splash campaign.

Following the success of Wallabies Gone Wild, Hospice Isle of Man has announced it will be hosting a second art trail across the Isle of Man next year; The Big Splash!

Created in partnership with trail producers Wild in Art, The Big Splash will see a number of large dolphin sculptures beautifully decorated by both local and national artists, showcasing the wealth of artistic talent of the Island and beyond. We will be working with the children to name, design and create our own dolphin.

The pod of dolphins will arrive on the Island in May 2022 forming an art trail for visitors and locals alike to enjoy throughout the summer. The art trail will also raise awareness and vital funds for Hospice Isle of Man, helping ensure that Hospice can always provide their services and support for the people of the Island to live well, their way to the end of their life.

The dolphin has arrived at school!

How to get involved:

Over the next few weeks, we will be talking to children about the final design for this project but we would like it to be linked to the Island and our beautiful countryside.

To help us get started please can we ask that if you are out and about on any of the Island beaches that you look out for sea glass. If you find any please collect it (carefully) and bring it to school.

Naturally, this can be found on many beaches around the Isle of Man. Douglas Prom Beach and Port Soderick are great for sea glass!

By sea glass, we mean green, blue, white, turquoise or brown pieces of glass that have been eroded by the sea.
Prizes for anyone who can find red sea glass!

Please make sure you are careful and do not pick up any sharp glass! Also, be sure to check tide times as no one wants wet feet!

Naming our Dolphin:

We are inviting the children to add their ideas for a name for our dolphin to the suggestion box on the table in the Main Entrance to school!
